All parents/grandparents need to be in the audience. Pre-Show
make up and costume help would still be greatly appreciated. Kid's can wear their Halloween costumes on Sunday to rehearsal. Photos of Tonight's rehearsal are uploaded. I have also uploaded photos from the 15th and 18th rehearsals: |

| October 1, 2009 |
Only a few characters were needed to work on stage, so we had some
projects to keep them busy if they weren't needed. Paper mache
for books and candles for Merlin's work table and shields.
We also kept some parents busy and working hard getting fabric ready
for costumes. Photos here. More coming soon from other cameras. |
| September 30, 2009 |
Next Thursday rehearsal the following characters are who we will be
working with on stage: Merlin, Druids, Morgan, Arthur, Sir
Ector, Elaine, Enid, Kay, Katydid, Dragonfly, Ladybug. Others
can help us make props, etc. or they can stay home and do homework.
Speaking of which, they can bring their homework to do while they
are not on stage as well. Sunday at 2 is another work day. Photos have been uploaded: September 24 September 27th New photos added to: September 3 September 10 Props and set are progressing. Several items need to be made and/or found for Props. Please email Diana if you would like to help. Click here to see Merlin's Hutch in progress. Samples of items that are going to fill it are included (the shield is going to be something else) |

Pictures from the Workday and Blocking rehearsal have been uploaded
here.
Blocking can be pretty tedious, and kinda boring especially if you
are not on stage, but it is important, and will be done soon.
Everyone needs to pay attention to everything that is going on.
It'll also help blocking go faster if the Director can be heard, so
shhhhhh. The stage has been expanded to the Thrust formation for this production. Lots of kids made scrolls for Merlin's workroom. They wrote stories, some in Runes, or drew pictures and then tore the edges of paper and stained it with coffee for an aged effect. We dyed fabric for costumes, and while we were at it the kids got to tie dye a shirt, just for. There will be pictures of that soon, I hope. |

| August 23, 2009 |
So far rehearsals have been Wonderful. They've been playing games
and telling stories, all toward the Strouds deciding who should be
in what role. Everything that happens in the rehearsal area is
being taken into account, whether they are the ones in the spotlight
at the moment, or not. |

Work Day |
Holy Moly!! What an army we had!! We got so much
done, everyone was so motivated and focused and I even think we had
some fun. Nuts were paper mached, paper plates were transformed
into candy which will decorate the set. Set pieces were built and
painted. There is more to be done, but it was a very very
productive work day. Thank you so very much!!! Pictures soon! Update: Photos here

September 25, 2008 Choreography |
I forgot my camera!! But we reviewed the Oompa
Loompa movement we learned, and added the finale song. This Sunday
at 1:30 will be our first "Tech" day where we will paint and build
sets and props. If you can't make it Sunday, please plan to attend
October 19. Parents, please stay with kids during the Tech portion
of the day. You should have received an email with all the
details. Let us know if you did not. (jrplayers@jrplayers.org)

September 22, 2008 Music and Dance |
Photos have been uploaded for Thursday's
music and Sunday's
choreography rehearsals. I think they all had a lot of
fun, mostly learning the dance for the Oompa Loompa Songs! It was
incredible to me to see them bouncing around, talking and seemingly
not paying attention (high energy!!) ... I have to admit that my
confidence was low. But after only 2 hours, I was amazed at how
well they got it! I also added some photos from the second part of the readthrough
|
|
September 11, 2008 Read Through |
The read through went just great. We didn't make
it all the way through the script, but will continue on Sunday, and
then start the music rehearsal.

Auditions |
The kids did a great job. Some were a little shy,
but all exhibited talent that I am confident Ms. Petra will exercise
and we will end up with a fantastic show and kids that can't
remember what stage fright is. Here are some pictures. They are a little blurry, but I thought you'd like to see a little of the "action." (email jrplayers@jrplayers.org if you have not received the password.) You can download the Calendar which now has Monitor and show night volunteer information. Also, the Committee list.
